Where Peace Thrives

Where peace thrives, there is growth. In addition, the lights are symbolic of the notion that where there is light, there is peace. The lights are also symbolic of the fact that light is necessary for growth, as we see ivy leaves growing around the letters and on vines hanging from the tree. In this scenario, one could also say enlightened, giving way to spiritual growth. This piece started out as a blended background of extra large tropical leaves with some grungy elements for subtle texture. The curvy, whimsical, metallic tree was built piece by piece before being adorned with butterflies and antique buttons. The letters for PEACE are old typewriter keys. In life, just because there are twists and turns, it doesn’t mean we can’t reach for the sky.
