Screech Punk

PHOTO ILLUSTRATION

A contraption has been built, in a digital assembled-object kind of way, that is random and yet resembles an abstract mechanical owl. Resembles, that’s all. Nothing deep, no intent or reason here, but it does seem to drive home the fact that when man tries to mimic something of nature, it doesn’t quite work the same way. Not that this was an attempt to mimic anything at all. It wasn’t.

This piece was created in the spirit of Moving On, pictured below, an earlier piece made up of metal junk, that seemed to be a joyous creature with some forward motion. Here, ribbons flap in the breeze, as this steampunk-y owl-like metallic beast gets ready to glide right on out of the frame, on a rail no less. It’s all in good fun, only meant to provide some artsy visual play. Check out the details and interconnected relationships of the various pieces and textures.
