These two representative drawings were drawn conventionally (on the table) from a prototype of a child’s formula racing car. Extensive drawings were created for owner and service manuals, including body details, battery connections, steering linkage, wheel and console assemblies (both shown here), wiring harnesses, etc. I had possession of the prototype car for the duration of the project to use as source material, along with various supplied blueprints. Transportation of the vehicle was carried out with the utmost clandestine care, with the prototype car covered in tarps while it was being transferred from pickup truck to pickup truck in a remote parking lot. After all, toy company spies might be watching, as this was a very secretive competitive item at the time.
