Life Icons

ILLUSTRATION

These illustrated icons appear in the Common Ground illustration (lower image at left), but since icons are so useful on their own, it made sense to feature them here. These five icons represent food, water, light, oxygen, and shelter (or abode). Symbolic of the things that life needs to sustain itself, these icons share a common color palette and a clean, simplified illustration style. Although the process is a bit more complicated, suffice to say that each was drawn and rendered in Illustrator and only the shadows were added in Photoshop.
